Small welding process time and high gradients of temperature and stress are important features of linear friction welding. Small size of finite elements and also small time step are required to model this process with the ANSYS Multiphysics software, so high performance computer systems and parallel solver capabilities are needed. Not all of the available solvers demonstrate acceptable efficiency for this problem on considered computer system.
